Why isn’t oppo linked to the front page anymore?
Also I asked for opinions on the Subie Outback a few months ago and we took delivery of ours just last Friday! 2016 2.5i in black on beige leather. Beautiful car and we’ve already put about 600km on it so it’s time for the first service before the end of next week.

Basically some people were claiming to be part of the FP to get press cars and then Gawker got in trouble. Some other drama. Now it’s separate. Or at least that’s what I was able to piece together.

If I recall correctly someone who’s article got shared to one of the Gawkerverse main blogs from a sub blog got caught for plagiarism causing all the sub blogs to be separated from their main sites to cover the Gawker staffs backs if this happened again.

We’re a sovereign, free state now. We’re not some site’s colony anymore. We are now the Independent Republic of Oppositelock.

Because we’re a strong, independent beautiful sub-blog that don’t need no link.

Jalopnik and Oppo got in a big fight and broke up. They have shared custody of the commenters.

They asked me who I wanted to live with, so I picked mommy. I still get to visit Jalopnik every other weekend, though.

What, you’re saying I’m not actually a writer for Gawker Media? But they make money off of my content! ;)

Yeah I think this was really the reason, that Buzzfeed fiasco with the copied content. I think the whole “People were requesting cars saying they wrote for Jalopnik” was bullshit especially since they couldn’t name a real instance of it happening (not like there would be legal ramifications for it). Also I’m sure automakers require a bit more than “Here’s a link to my Kinja articles” before they hand out pre release press cars.
